New York, Aug 17 : ‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ star Taylor Armstrong has been left devastated by the news of her estranged husband Russell’s suicide.
Russell was found hanging at his home on Mulholland Drive in Los Angeles on Monday evening. He was 47.
“[She] is devastated by the tragic events that have unfolded,” the New York Daily News quoted her rep as saying in a statement.
“She requests privacy at this time so that she may comfort her young daughter,” her rep added.
A spokesman with the Los Angeles County Coroner said that the actor was pronounced dead at the scene.
“He was found hanging in the bedroom. No suicide note has been located,” Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter told the New York Daily News.
Winter said the autopsy would take place Wednesday or Thursday.
The tragic news comes one month after Taylor filed divorce papers to end their six-year marriage, stating that she suffered years of verbal and physical abuse from her husband.
The ‘Bravo’ star, who fought openly with her husband during the first season of the show, asked for joint legal custody of their 5-year-old daughter Kennedy.
Russell, who was reportedly suffering from serious financial problems and was said to be millions of dollars in debt, is survived by two sons from a previous marriage.
